<p>The New Programs Engineering team is looking for a dedicated technician to join our team in an advanced and fast paced work environment. The Prototype Vehicle Technician will lead the build of prototypes, functional prototypes and prototypes vehicles in support of New Programs Engineering.</p> <p>The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. They must be able to balance tight deadlines with demanding requirements. Additionally, they must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams, including engineers, fabricators, machinists and hardware and software engineers.</p> <ul> <li>Lead the build, final mechanical sign-off, maintenance, and storage of prototype vehicles, mules and bucks </li><li>Lead diagnostics for electrical system within mechatronic systems </li><li>Liaison with aero engineers, mechanical design engineers, electronics and fabrication leads to ensure successful project delivery to challenging timelines </li><li>Lead instrumentation and data acquisition setup including bespoke harness manufacture </li><li>Completion of checks and calibration ahead of asset use </li><li>Organization of vehicle and test equipment logistics for offsite events </li><li>Maintenance of tools and consumables supplies </li><li>Proactive involvement in development methods and processes to deliver continuous improvement </li><li>Enthusiasm for extensive travel to support prototype build and validation </li><li>A proven record of delivering excellence as an automotive, race or custom builder or technician </li><li>Experience in vehicle part installation, wheel/tire changes and suspension installation and setup </li><li>Understanding of mechanical systems, including motors, bearings, hydraulics, bushings and actuators </li><li>Good working knowledge of machine shop tools for fabrication of components </li><li>Experience in full vehicle prototyping strongly preferred </li><li>Experience with test controls and data acquisition preferred </li><li>Basic CAD skills - ability to load and interrogate models and assemblies </li><li>A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office </li><li>Automotive Technology degree, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability preferred </li></ul>
