<p>Kitchen Assistant</p> <p>Salary: $14.00/hour</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The 740 Rescue Kitchen is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to</p> <p>support our mission of turning rescued and donated food into fresh, nutritious meals for</p> <p>the community. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a busy kitchen environment, able</p> <p>to follow instructions, and committed to cleanliness, food safety, and teamwork.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Prep Work: Wash, chop, and prepare fresh produce and ingredients</p> <p>Meal Prep: Assist in preparing meals using surplus and donated food under</p> <p>direction of the Chef</p> <p>Sanitation & Cleaning:</p> <p>o Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils</p> <p>o Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, workstations, and common kitchen</p> <p>spaces</p> <p>o Ensure thorough cleaning of kitchen at end of each shift</p> <p>Food Handling & Storage:</p> <p>o Assist with loading and unloading ingredients into coolers, freezers, and</p> <p>storage areas</p> <p>o Label, organize, and rotate stock appropriately</p> <p>Packaging: Portion and package meals for delivery and distribution</p> <p>Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with health</p> <p>department guidelines</p> <p>Support with occasional weekend shifts or events as needed</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Prior experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen strongly preferred</p> <p>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions</p> <p>Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety</p> <p>Physical ability to stand, lift (30+ lbs), bend, and squat throughout shift</p> <p>Kitchen Assistant Job Description</p> <p>Team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping others</p> <p>ServSafe certification earned after 8 weeks</p> <p>Why Join the 740 Rescue Kitchen?</p> <p>This is more than a kitchen job - it's a chance to be part of a movement to reduce food</p> <p>waste and fight hunger in Southeast Ohio.
