<p>Position Title: Material Handler 2</p> <p>Pay Rate: $24.47/hr</p> <p>Category/Shift: Hourly, Full-Time (8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday)</p> <p>Physical Location: 2800 Dixon Street, Des Moines, IA 50316</p> <p>The Job You Will Perform:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant</p> </li><li> <p>Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR)</p> </li><li> <p>Complete and submit load sheet to accurately record bale count, loading start/stop times for finished goods on outbound shipments</p> </li><li> <p>Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag out procedure</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with sorting, deboxing and moving pallets/materials on the plant floor</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with removing finished bales and storing them in the proper location</p> </li><li> <p>Load and unload trailers</p> </li><li> <p>Complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly</p> </li><li> <p>Attend and participate in plant safety meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage</p> </li><li> <p>Report any safety or maintenance concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to plant policies and guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties may be assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>The Skills You Will Bring:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be 18 years of age</p> </li><li> <p>Must be authorized to work in the United States</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work any shift as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work overtime as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read, write and speak English fluently</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to meet the physical demands of the job</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment</p> </li><li> <p>Alertness, visual ability, and concern for quality</p> </li><li> <p>Good oral and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent time management and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands</p> </li><li> <p>Process improvement mindset</p> </li><li> <p>On-the-job success in safety, attendance & quality of work expected</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate with dispatch when trailers are completely loaded and/or unloaded including trailer number, door number</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate with floor lead - maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, unacceptable or non-conforming loads, poor bale quality, errors on supplier tickets versus actual receipts any other issues with material being handled</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Forklift, Skid Steer, Electronic Pallet Jack, Hand Truck</p> </li></ul>
