Occasionally, our Reno Community Development team also works on projects from other Stantec disciplines throughout the Western United States. This will routinely require performing a variety of tasks which may include design analysis, calculations, preparation of design reports, preparation of design drawings, preparation of construction documents, providing tender support, and attending meeting with project stakeholders. BUSINESS LEADERSHIP, you will work with the regional business leadership teams to gain and retain clients that will generate a steady project backlog for everyone in the Reno Community Development team and possible other Stantec teams. You will also provide guidance for the Community Development team to achieve business goals for the office by ensuring there is a steady backlog of work that is distributed accordingly.</p> <p>Your Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as the technical lead for the project team.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with geomatics team and obtain appropriate record data required to assemble complete and accurate base information.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and revise documentation for various project phases from feasibility analysis to construction close out which include but limited to grading, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare concept design alternatives considering site constraints and project objectives to evolve the project layout.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups / direction for junior engineers/designers.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare construction quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications and construction documents.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in constructability review.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with processing project documentation to approval and permit availability</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with team to prioritize workload and schedule on multiple projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Works in office at least four days a week.</p> </li></ul> <p>Your Capabilities and Credentials</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requisite knowledge and application of agency and industry applicable codes.</p> </li><li> <p>General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Possesses excellent time-management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong oral and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed Professional Engineer.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 7 years of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in supervising junior staff in execution of project deliverables is preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
