Elementary School</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree from accredited college or university </li><li>Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Certificate with the appropriate endorsement </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: Certificate/License:</p> <ul> <li>NJ Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Child Certification </li></ul> <p>Reports To: Child Study Team Supervisor</p> <p>Supervises: Students</p> <p>Job Goal: To provide learning services to students as mandated by state law and code.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Perform all necessary duties as required by the administrative code, state, federal laws and Board policy as a member of the Child Study Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a member of a Child Study Team to evaluate, identify and classify students according to New Jersey Rules and Regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in planning the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) for students in need of special services.</p> </li><li> <p>Confer with teachers to implement goals and objectives of the IEP with respect to the use of teaching methods and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop instructional goals and objectives in terms of a student's strengths and weaknesses.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain appropriate records and submit required reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure confidentiality of referred and classified students pertinent information and records.</p> </li><li> <p>Observe referred or classified students during evaluation and/or in the classroom setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate during interpretative conferences with parents, students and staff members involved with the student's program.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet with special education teachers to implement training and instruction in the academic areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor progress of classified students as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist and advise with in-service planning or evaluation when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain an awareness of current trends, changes and development in his/her field of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a cordial and workable relationship with professional and non-professional staff as well as students, parents and community members.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as may be assigned by the administrative staff in accordance with the contractual agreement or policies of the Board of Education.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfill all of the responsibilities of case management as delineated in N.J.A.C. 6:28 for assigned case load.</p> </li><li> <p>Functions as a member of the Intervention & Referral Services (I&RS) Team if assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education Services.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designees.</p> </li></ol> <p>Employment conditions:</p> <p>Contract year: September 1 to June 30 (10 Mos.)</p> <p>Job Family Professional Staff</p> <p>Pay Grade/Compensation Structure: G10</p> <p>Evaluation: In accordance with Board policy</p> <p>Job Code: 3118</p>
