<p>Job Description</p> <p>Title: Quality Inspector I</p> <p>Reports to: Quality Control Manager</p> <p>Location: St. Peters, MO</p> <p>Posted: 5/6/25</p> <p>Job Summary: Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.</p> <p>Schedule: This position works 12-hour shifts. The Day Shift schedule is 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM. The work week is an alternating 36 or 48 hours (12 hour shifts rotating on a 2 weeks cycle: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) resulting in a 3 day weekend every other week and some built in overtime.</p> <p>Compensation: The starting rate for this role is $19.20.</p> <p>Zoltek does not hire individuals who require sponsorship for employment eligibility in the U.S.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. </li><li>Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production Supervisor and Foreman. </li><li>Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. </li><li>Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. </li><li>Comply and assist with enforcing all Company policies and procedures. </li><li>Comply and assist with enforcing all Company Safety policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform other duties as required by the Quality Manager. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school education (Associate degree, preferred) with experience in a Quality Department. </li><li>Experience in laboratory environment utilizing test equipment. </li><li>Good communication skills. </li><li>Good math skills. </li><li>Ability to think through complex processes. </li><li>Computer knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) </li><li>Some mechanical aptitude for minor adjustment and calibrations. </li><li>Capabilities to read, understand, and analyze customer specifications. </li><li>Some experience in using micrometers and calipers </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands of this job are active and the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb; have use of hands and fingers; talk see and hear </li><li>Demonstrate ability to set up re-winder </li><li>Some material handling </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The work environments characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
