<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Waterford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dance Club Advisor at Waterford High School effective for the 2025-26 school year, to support, supervise, and guide students participating in the Dance Club. The advisor will foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment while helping students develop choreography, leadership skills, and school spirit through dance-related activities and performances.</p> <p>Waterford Public Schools serves approximately 2,400 students in grades PK-12. The Waterford Board of Education is a nine-member elected body.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and advise the Waterford High School Dance Club in accordance with school and district policies. </li><li>Attend and supervise all scheduled club meetings, practices, rehearsals, and performances. </li><li>Support students in planning and implementing choreography, routines, and performances </li><li>Ensure student safety and appropriate behavior during all club activities. </li><li>Coordinate schedules, facility use, and equipment needs with the Athletic Department and school administration. </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, families, school administrators, and other advisors/coaches as needed. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with middle or high school-aged students. </li><li>Ability to supervise students and manage group activities responsibly. </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Willingness to complete all required district trainings (e.g., mandated reporter, etc). </li><li>Weekly meetings and/or practices, with additional time required for performances and events. </li><li>Seasonal commitment aligned with the school year (typically fall through spring). </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Background or experience in dance (e.g., hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, modern, or related styles). </li><li>Prior experience advising a club, coaching, or leading extracurricular activities. </li><li>Knowledge of choreography, performance preparation, and rehearsal planning. </li><li>Ability to build an inclusive environment welcoming students of varying experience levels. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental position.</p> <p>Wage is in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. https://waterford.ss16.sharpschool.com/our_district/departments/hr/contracts/waterford_federation_of_classroom_teachers</p> <p>Link to full job description below:</p> <p>https://drive.google.com/file/d/1psgnkAELjS3479z8EMJw61UofScUrn7a/view?usp=drive_link</p> <p>The vacancy is posted as open until filled.</p> <p>Please apply online: https://www.waterfordschools.org/our_district/departments/hr/employment_opportunities</p>
