We welcome applications from academics and experienced industry professionals who are passionate about preparing students for leadership roles in Hawai'i, the Pacific, and beyond.</p> <p>Why join us?</p> <ul> <li>Small classes, high faculty-student engagement. </li><li>A mission-driven community committed to ethics, leadership, and service. </li><li>Opportunities to mentor and inspire the next generation of business leaders. </li><li>Honolulu location with strong ties to Hawai'i and Pacific Island communities. </li><li>Reports to </li></ul> <p>Direct Report: Dean of the School of the School of Business and Communication.</p> <ul> <li>Essential Duties and Responsibilities </li><li>Teach assigned undergraduate courses in your area of expertise using engaging, student-centered instructional methods. </li><li>Develop course materials (i.e., lectures, assignments, and projects) that promote critical thinking and integrate theory with practice. </li><li>Incorporate current industry trends, technologies, and case studies into instruction. </li><li>Integrate relevant emerging technologies such as AI tools, data analytics platforms, or digital marketing systems into instruction to prepare students for evolving industry practices. </li><li>Create a classroom environment that fosters collaboration and active participation. </li><li>Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments. </li><li>Participate in program planning and continuous improvement activities as appropriate. </li><li>Remain current in your discipline and in best practices for teaching and learning. </li><li>Disclaimer </li></ul> <p>This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Some holiday and weekend work may be required.</p> <ul> <li>Education and Experience </li></ul> <p>Minimum</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, sport and event management, economics, analytics, information systems, or closely related field. </li><li>Prior teaching, training, or instructional experience. </li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse student population. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate in the discipline. </li><li>College-level teaching experience in small class or high engagement settings. </li><li>Professional expertise with a record of applied projects, leadership, or community engagement. </li><li>Experience with educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas). </li><li>Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the subject matter and its practical applications in business contexts. </li><li>Ability to design learning experiences that integrate theory, practice, and ethical decision-making. </li><li>Awareness of current and emerging technologies in business, such as AI applications, analytics tools, or digital collaboration platforms, and ability to incorporate them meaningfully into the learning experience. </li><li>Skills in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism with students and colleagues. </li><li>Capacity to adapt teaching methods to varied learning styles and needs. </li><li>Commitment to Chaminade's mission, Marianist values, and service to Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet course delivery and grading deadlines. </li><li>Physical Requirements </li></ul> <p>Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.</p> <ul> <li>Other Requirements </li><li>This is a part time, exempt position. Nineteen hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule </li><li>Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required </li><li>Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
