Harris-Stowe's diverse faculty and staff provide a wide range of academic programs to one of the St. Louis region's most culturally diverse student bodies.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Anheuser-Busch School of Business at Harris-Stowe State University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor - Healthcare Management. Adjuncts are responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in ways that are engaging, innovative, and aligned with disciplinary standards. Their teaching should reflect a strong commitment to equity, respect for diversity, a deep understanding of culturally responsive practices, and expertise in their field. They are also expected to meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with university policies and procedures.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and teach courses in the field of Healthcare Management to a diverse student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of university students and the standards of the discipline. </li><li>Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations. </li><li>Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories. </li><li>Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities. </li><li>Perform other related tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Technology</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom. Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Canvas to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Professional Standards</p> <ul> <li>Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of course grades. </li><li>Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve student retention and success. </li><li>Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality in all interactions. </li><li>Comply with published university policies and procedures and meet professional standards for teaching in at a University. </li><li>Appropriate use of the University's learning management system. </li></ul> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Healthcare Management or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Healthcare Management. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Doctor of Health Administration (DHA), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services or Healthcare Administration, or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with a healthcare management focus. </li><li>Teaching experience in-person and online environments </li><li>Online Teaching Certification (e.g., Quality Matters, ACUE, etc.) </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li></ul>
