<p>This is a 10.5-month, grant-funded position</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Instructional faculty are responsible for creating an innovative learning environment both inside and outside of the classroom, and for inspiring success and excellence in student learning.Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with Recompete grant staff and CWC employees to complete grant-related activities and required reporting. </li><li>Submit course dates and times to the Department Coordinator upon request. </li><li>Teach classes and associated laboratories in accordance with learning outcomes. </li><li>Collaboratively prepare a comprehensive syllabus that meets college standards. </li><li>Order textbooks and supplies for each course section. </li><li>Establish an instructor account in the Test Master Universe (TMU) and enter the required student/candidate data at the start and completion of each course section. </li><li>Deliver courses in a hybrid format that combines computer-based learning activities with face-to-face instruction in a lab setting. </li><li>Use innovative instructional strategies and emerging technologies to enhance student learning. </li><li>Facilitate student learning by providing a safe and supportive environment to encourage active student participation. </li><li>Assess student learning and performance and provide formative feedback in a timely manner. </li><li>Foster effective working relationships with the healthcare team to provide a comprehensive and safe environment for students' clinical learning experiences. </li><li>Coordinate student orientation at the clinical agency. </li><li>Ensure that students' clinical records comply with clinical agency requirements prior to clinical assignment, including immunizations, background check, and drug screen. </li><li>Supervise and provide hands-on instruction to students during clinical learning experiences. </li><li>Oversee the application process for state nursing assistant certification, including exam registration and payment of fees. </li><li>Coordinate certification test dates with outside testing service. </li><li>Maintain accurate and complete course records related to student progress and submit to the CWC Nurse Aide Training Program Coordinator upon course completion. </li><li>Enter final course grades by the published deadline and complete all required course assessment activities. </li><li>Manage student enrollment and withdrawals by coordinating with academic success coaches. </li><li>Report examination data and pass rates to the CWC Nurse Aide Training Program Coordinator for each course section and adjust content delivery/teaching processes to address gaps. </li><li>Oversee the efficient use of supplies and equipment in the lab and clinical agency, and make recommendations for purchases. </li><li>Complete ongoing CWC-mandated training as scheduled. </li><li>Assist with positive program promotion and recruitment. </li><li>Attend program advisory board and college meetings as required. </li><li>Provide a workload schedule showing instructional and office hours. </li><li>Complete other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two years of licensed nursing experience, one year of which must be in the provision of long-term care facility services </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wyoming </li><li>American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Certification, or the ability to complete an instructor training course within one month of hire </li><li>Fully approved by the Wyoming Department of Health to teach the Nurse Aide Training Program </li><li>Train the Trainer course completion, or experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides </li></ul> <p>Clinical Record Requirements</p> <p>Immunizations</p> <ul> <li>TB test, MMR, hepatitis B, varicella, Tdap, and seasonal influenza. Central Wyoming College adheres to the Centers for Disease Control guidelines and recommendations for immunizations for healthcare providers. Additionally, nursing faculty must comply with clinical agency rules and regulations. </li><li>Criminal background check from the designated company upon hire. </li><li>Drug screen from the designated company upon hire. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in the subject area taught. </li><li>Ability to use a variety of instructional media to promote student engagement. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written forms. </li><li>Ability to function independently while contributing to a team environment. </li><li>Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to effectively identify and solve problems. </li><li>Skill in handling sensitive information in a confidential manner. </li><li>Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and clinical agency personnel. </li><li>Ability to contribute to a positive environment that encourages knowledge of, and respect for, diverse communities. </li></ul> <p>Level of Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed under the direction of the CWC Nursing Director. Plans own time to meet predetermined schedules. Work is subject to general supervision and review. Has some freedom of choice in approaching problems, methods of operation, and goal-setting. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Reasonable accommodation will be extended to otherwise qualified individuals with a legally recognized disability. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used</p> <ul> <li>Classroom and laboratory technologies and healthcare equipment routinely used in a long-term care setting. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Standing for extended periods and light lifting. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in classroom and clinical settings with appropriate climate controls. Work environment may lead to exposure to human biohazardous waste, including blood and bodily fluids. Early morning, late evening, and possible weekend hours may be scheduled.
