This role owns the full cycle of account reconciliation, including investigation and resolution of variances, preparation and posting of correcting journal entries, and maintenance of supporting schedules. The position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, the ability to manage multiple reconciliation deadlines concurrently, and the communication skills to partner effectively with operational and program staff.</p> <p>CORE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Ownership</p> <ul> <li>Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, deferred revenue, and other designated accounts. </li></ul> <p>Month-End & Year-End Close</p> <ul> <li>Execute assigned month-end close tasks within published close calendar deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Lease Accounting</p> <ul> <li>Maintain the organization's lease accounting schedules, including right-of-use asset and lease liability rollforwards. </li></ul> <p>Grant & Contract Billings</p> <ul> <li>Prepare cost reimbursement billings and state and local contract billings (e.g., DDS, DMH, DPH) in accordance with contract terms. </li></ul> <p>Process Improvement & Systems</p> <ul> <li>Identify and implement improvements to reconciliation processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and auditability. </li></ul> <p>General</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. </li><li>Minimum of three years of general ledger accounting experience. </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, V-Lookups, and multi-sheet reconciliation workbooks. </li><li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple reconciliation deadlines concurrently. </li><li>Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly as it applies to balance sheet presentation and account classification. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Experience with direct ownership of balance sheet account reconciliations. </li><li>Experience in nonprofit, public, or government-funded accounting environments. </li><li>Familiarity with grant and state contract billing and compliance requirements (e.g., DDS, DMH, DPH). </li><li>Experience with ERP or fund accounting systems. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Generous PTO (time-off) package. </li><li>Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans. </li><li>Life insurance and long-term disability insurance. </li><li>403(b) retirement plan. </li><li>Tuition remission for eligible classes. </li><li>Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility and tuition assistance. </li><li>Opportunities for career development and advancement. </li><li>And much more </li></ul> <p>About ServiceNet</p> <p>ServiceNet is a compassionate non-profit organization that helps individuals facing challenges such as mental illness, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, homelessness, and substance use issues.
