<p>Guest Services & Retail Associate</p> <p>Holden Arboretum</p> <p>Opportunity:</p> <p>The Guest Services department seeks a seasonal Guest Services & Retail Associate. The Guest Services & Retail Associate will help welcome guests to the grounds while answering general inquiries, promote retail sales, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere. We are seeking a person with superb customer service who will present a positive attitude that leads to successful teamwork and is results driven. When you join HF&G, you join a team of professionals who are passionate about improving Northeast Ohio's communities through our mission-driven programs.</p> <p>Position Details:</p> <ul> <li>Seasonal roles helping guest feel welcome throughout the Holden Arboretum </li><li>Positions are available April through November, flexibility with start & end dates </li><li>Hours range from 24 to 40 per week, based on candidate availability </li><li>Pay Ranges $14.21/hour </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Key responsibilities of the seasonal Guest Services & Retail Associate include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Actively welcome and receive guests, providing prompt and courteous service and orientation of the property, programs and events that support the mission and success of Holden Forests & Gardens </li><li>Process prompt and accurate sales transactions for merchandise using the computerized cash register with Altru, the organization's point-of-sale system </li><li>Conduct inventory spot checks, cycle counts and daily activity reports </li><li>Restock inventory as needed </li><li>Maintain the appearance, cleanliness and safety of public spaces, staff workspaces, and facilities </li><li>Provide friendly, clear, and courteous customer service to encourage return visitation </li><li>Manage customer concerns-communicates effectively through email, radio, and verbally </li><li>Provide prompt follow-up and relay information to supervisor as needed </li><li>Support the Holden Arboretum Guest Services team </li><li>Use Microsoft 365 products for file sharing and communication </li><li>Perform other relevant duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Support Holden Forests & Gardens' mission, vision, and values </li><li>Demonstrate a passion for people and nature </li><li>High school graduate or equivalent, required </li><li>Customer service experience or desire to learn </li><li>Strong verbal communication skills and interest in working directly with guests </li><li>Experience with cash handling, telephone etiquette, and retail experience or the desire and the ability to learn </li><li>Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products, specifically Teams, Outlook (email and calendar),?Word, Excel, and PowerPoint?or the ability to learn </li><li>A positive attitude, willingness to learn </li><li>Ability to be self-motivating when working independently </li><li>Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays </li><li>Must have reliable transportation </li><li>Valid driver's license an acceptable motor vehicle record, required </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Stand and sit for extended periods of time </li><li>Transporting oneself by foot over a variety of terrain that may be wet, slippery, uneven, or rocky </li><li>Effective vision and hearing </li><li>Ability to type on a keyboard </li><li>Hand and arm dexterity </li><li>Ability to ascend and descend stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, grab, and reach </li><li>Lifting up to 15 pounds on a repetitive basis daily, occasionally 25 pounds </li></ul> <p>Some of the reasons Holden Forests & Gardens (HF&G) is a great place to work!</p> <p>Work in a beautiful environment within Greater Cleveland | Discounts in our stores & cafes | Free parking at both campuses anytime we are open | Free admission to many Northeast Ohio Museums | Free Employee Assistance Program | And Much More!</p> <p>Apply:</p> <p>Holden Forests & Gardens values an authentic sense of belonging at all levels of the organization, including staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and visitors.
