No Pay Information Negotiable based on experience Pay Schedule Annually FLSA Designation Exempt Position Summary</p> <p>The Assistant Coach for Men's Ice Hockey will assist the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the hockey program, including coaching, recruiting, contest scheduling, student-athlete mentoring, and ensuring that the program is compliant with all NCAA, NCHC, and University rules and regulations. This individual will assist with the promotion of the team, as well as the University of Nebraska Omaha.</p> <p>Leadership and Management:</p> <ul> <li>This position will instruct student-athletes in the required skills necessary to compete at the highest level of competition in the collegiate game. Under the direction of the Head Coach, this position will motivate student-athletes; conduct individual skill instruction; coach specific positions/and or game situations; and periodically conduct team practices. </li><li>This position will be relied upon to give effective feedback to staff and student-athletes in preparation for, and during, all practices and competitions. </li></ul> <p>Strategy and Planning:</p> <ul> <li>This position will work with the staff to effectively plan and execute the recruiting efforts. This will include the evaluation of talent; communication with coaches, advisors, parents, and recruits; the planning and scheduling of individual recruit campus visits; travel domestically and internationally to evaluate prospects. </li><li>This position will help administer all facets of the hockey program. This could include, but is not limited to, planning and organizing practices; reviewing opponents' game-film; preparing scouting reports of future opponents; and making public appearances when requested. </li><li>This position will require the evaluation of individual team members' performances in practice and in games, and meeting individually with them to discuss, correct, and improve their play. </li><li>This position will also require the coach to motivate individual student-athletes to perform at the highest level of performance that they can achieve. </li></ul> <p>Management:</p> <ul> <li>This position will require the coach to be involved with the management of practice sessions at the direction of the head coach. This will include practice planning; pre-practice team meetings; full-team and individual direction on the ice; and post-practice evaluation of the team and their individual performances. </li><li>This position may require the coach to be deeply involved with pre-game preparation, and in-game bench coaching at the direction of the head coach. </li><li>This position must demonstrate concern for the academic pursuits of the student-athletes by adherence to department, university, and NCAA academic policies. This individual must be invested in the personal academic goals for each team member and invest in supporting each student-athlete's attempt to reach their academic goals.
