<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Transportation Manager position will perform the following duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manages all delivery expenses for your assigned locations</p> </li><li> <p>Manages both the fleet and driver workforce in an efficient, cost-effective manner</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and expands backhaul revenue</p> </li><li> <p>Provides excellent customer service and leadership of the team</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on management experience in transportation and logistics operations</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with automated logistics systems</p> </li><li> <p>Makes effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Capable of staffing, structuring, and maintaining a productive team of highly skilled employees</p> </li><li> <p>Inspires others with enthusiasm and positive energy</p> </li><li> <p>Effectively manages in a changing environment. Skills include leadership, planning, developing policies, delegation, and tracking performance against measurable goals</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to manage a small staff</p> </li><li> <p>Has superior organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Is articulate, professional, and effective at building relationships using oral and written communication</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications.</p> <p>5+ years of leadership or supervisor experience with all facets of outbound transportation; knowledge of distribution systems, including routing and transfer procedures.</p> <p>Experience managing large numbers of driving staff; experience with hiring, training, and motivating teammates and resolving employee relations issues.</p> <p>In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.</p> <p>1+ years of verifiable CDL Class A experience.</p> <p>No DUI/DWI convictions within past 5 years</p> <p>No chargeable D.O.T. reportable accidents within the past three years.</p> <p>High School Degree or Equivalent</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>BS Degree in Business Management/Supply Chain Management or logistics related program and/or 5+ years equivalent and related experience</p> <p>Proven track record of developing and implementing successful transportation strategies.</p> <p>2+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience; ability to identify financial issues and provide cost-effective solutions.</p> <p>Exceptional conflict management skills, particularly in handling sensitive and complex matters.</p>
