<p>Job Title: Occupational Therapist</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation Services</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and provide occupational therapy services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The goal is to maintain a high degree of quality care for residents.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Program Planning and Development:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and organize occupational therapy programs and activities in accordance with nursing care regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain occupational therapy standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize outcome measurement tools to standardize therapy methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Patient Care:</p> </li><li> <p>Review physician orders and schedule therapy as prescribed.</p> </li><li> <p>Select and administer rehabilitative and therapeutic exercises based on medical history.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in discharge planning, care plans, and quarterly resident assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain detailed treatment records, resident files, and progress notes.</p> </li><li> <p>Quality Assurance and Compliance:</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the development of quality assurance programs for occupational therapy services.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain compliance with therapy laws, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Administrative Functions:</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret and explain occupational therapy policies to staff, residents, and families.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure accurate therapy service charges and timely documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in facility committees as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety and Sanitation:</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure therapy areas are safe, clean, and equipped with necessary materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow infection control procedures and use safety equipment when required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education:</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or nursing care facility is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure:</p> </li><li> <p>Must hold a current, unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work with diverse populations, including the elderly and disabled. </li><li>Knowledge of occupational therapy procedures and best practices. </li><li>Proficiency in documentation and use of therapy-related software. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Ability to stand, walk, and move intermittently during working hours. </li></ul>
