Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a world-class team developing Teslas battery technology. This role is focused on analysis and interpretation of battery tests and image data. Your work may include developing software to improve workflows, analyzing large datasets generated from our test labs, creating data visualizations, and improving the robustness of our automated analysis pipeline. The ideal candidate will combine strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals with software programming. Teamwork, analytical ability, organizational skills, and attention to detail are all highly valued skills. Individuals at every level carry a tremendous amount of responsibility and should look forward to learning an incredible amount on the job.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Designing tests and analyzing data to explore fundamental battery degradation modes or drive actionable recommendations to improve vehicle product performance/quality</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, analyze, and interpret trends of patterns in complex data sets and depict the story via dashboards and reports</p> </li><li> <p>Write efficient SQL/Python code and complex queries across extensive data sets</p> </li><li> <p>Work effectively with engineers and conduct end-to-end analyses, from data requirement gathering, to data processing and modeling</p> </li><li> <p>Automate analyses and author pipelines using SQL, Python, and Airflow based ETL framework</p> </li><li> <p>Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field</p> </li><li> <p>Significant, demonstrated technical contributions towards past projects</p> </li><li> <p>Programming experience with Python (preferred), MATLAB, and/or JavaScript</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment</p> </li><li> <p>Some familiarity with dev-ops tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Splunk, Redis</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with distributed computing (Spark/Hive/Hadoop)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience creating data products and dashboards in Tableau, R Shiny, or D3</p> </li><li> <p>First principles understanding of engineering concepts with relevant project/research experience</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently on multiple projects with complex requirements</p> </li></ul>
