<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Secretarial/Clerical/Adminstrative Assistant</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>6/5/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Cromer Elementary School</p> <p>(High-Needs School)</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>July 1, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open till Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>FLAGSTAFF UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1</p> <p>Administrative Assistant to the Principal</p> <p>Cromer Elementary School</p> <p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Position Title: Administrative Assistant to the Principal</p> <p>Department/Section: Cromer Elementary School</p> <p>Supervisor: Principal</p> <p>Hourly Rate: $20.50 - $21.25/hour (depending on experience)</p> <p>Pay Grade: 71</p> <p>Schedule: 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday (hours TBD); 12 month position; Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefits offered, Arizona State Retirement System</p> <p>SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:</p> <p>Perform secretarial/administrative duties such as answering and responding to phone inquiries, typing correspondence, and communicating with all stakeholders in the school. Ensure effective office operation and handle confidential teacher, staff and student information. Maintain a professional work environment.</p> <p>TYPICAL TASKS/FOCUS:</p> <ul> <li>Positively greet and support visitors, students, parents, community members, and staff. </li><li>Maintains a customer service focus and positive work environment. </li><li>Type correspondence and reports for Principal and other school personnel. </li><li>Receive and screen incoming phone calls and respond as necessary; schedule appointments for Principal as required. </li><li>Act as a liaison between teachers, parents, students, and administration. </li><li>Assist in the hiring and screening processes of potential staff and volunteers. </li><li>Provide office staff with technical or hands on resources needed to do their jobs effectively and efficiently. </li><li>Assist with personal or professional leave requests. Verify hours for all classified staff. </li><li>Perform general office activities such as maintaining a filing system, computer spreadsheet; completing routine forms, and responding to questions. </li><li>Handle building usage, maintenance, and warehouse requests for the school </li><li>Completes purchasing and monitors school budget. </li><li>Update calendars for the school year. </li><li>Prepare newsletters, bulletins, letters, and memos. </li><li>Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities at the same time. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Specific training or job experience required before appointment.</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent certification required. </li><li>Formal secretarial training and administrative assistant experience preferred. </li><li>Customer service experience and skills. </li><li>Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred. </li><li>Ability to deal effectively with people (students, parents, staff, etc.). </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
