Removes unwanted or unhealthy plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as downed limbs. Operates hand tools and power equipment, including mowers, leaf-blowers, snowblowers, tillers, backhoes, and tractors. Provides advice to Director and takes direction from them. Employees hired under this job description will assist in all full-time grounds keeping duties. Outside work during inclement weather may be assigned.</p> <p>MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Michigan driver's license. </li><li>Pass fingerprint check as required by law. </li><li>Possess a valid chauffeur's license. </li><li>Excellent work record. </li><li>Ability to use all grounds equipment (trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, weed wackers, chainsaws, etc.). </li><li>Capable of driving a lift truck. </li><li>Ability to handle minor repairs to equipment, walls, and ceilings. </li><li>Ability to load and unload trucks when needed. </li><li>Ability to work above the ground on ladders, power lifts, and/or roof tops. </li><li>Capable of working with marking paints, lining chalk, different paints, chemicals, etc. </li><li>Ability to take directions and work well with others employees as well as the public. </li><li>Ability to work above shoulders. </li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds for extended periods. </li><li>Ability to work in varying conditions, i.e., changing temperatures and weather. </li></ul> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not be limited to):</p> <p>Minimum of two (2) site-visits per week:</p> <ul> <li>Parking lots. - Removal of garbage, weeds, catch basin inspections and address any concerns. </li><li>Marquees - Removal of garbage, weeds, mulch/plant maintenance and repairs. </li><li>Grounds - Removal of garbage, unhealthy plants, hedge trimming, tree maintenance, removal of hazards. </li><li>Entrances - Removal of garbage, weeds, mulch/plant maintenance and repairs </li><li>Playgrounds - Removal of garbage, inspection/repairs of equipment, mulch repair, removal of weeds and hazards. </li><li>Ballfields - Removal of weeds and dragged weekly </li><li>Perform other tasks as directed by the director of support services and/or designee. </li></ul> <p>Attachment(s):</p> <ul> <li>Grounds - 2025-2026 SY - 08-12-2025.pdf </li></ul>
