This position is available to work study and campus employment students.</p> <ul> <li>Position: Language Tutor - Spanish </li><li>Revision Dates: 8/2025 </li><li>Reports to: Dr. Martine Motard-Noar & Amanda Restivo </li><li>Department: World Languages </li><li>Salary: Maryland Minimum Wage </li><li>FSLA Status: Non-exempt </li><li>Location of Position: Baker Memorial Chapel, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157 </li><li>Duration of Appointment: 08/06/25-05/20/2026 </li><li>Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor </li><li>Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis </li></ul> <p>Scope: Tutor students</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The tutor will meet on a weekly basis to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist students to develop skills related to Spanish </li><li>Provide additional support to students struggling to understand course material </li><li>Assist students with preparation for tests and finals </li><li>Assist students by answering questions and clarifying grammatical concepts. </li><li>Late afternoon or evening availability </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Current student at McDaniel who has an advanced knowledge of grammar in the Spanish language </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Highly organized and detail oriented </li><li>Excellent time management skills </li><li>Able to work independently with little to no supervision </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>McDaniel College, in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, does not discriminate in the recruitment, admission, and employment of students, faculty, and staff in the operation of any of its educational programs and activities.
