<p>Mechanical Design Drafter Maryville , United States : Tennessee - United States (US) Mission To provide engineering support for manufacturing and marketing functions. This position is responsible for the mechanical design and development of components and new products to meet customer and market needs. Roles and Responsibilities • Develop special designs to meet special customer requests and provide supporting calculations as necessary; this may include working with 3rd party resources to achieve desired results. • Prepare layouts, designs, and specifications for new, proposed, and existing products/projects approved by the Senior Management • Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) and use client specifications to develop the layouts and BOM required for the products manufactured, modified, or supported by the product company. • Develops new components and products using Computer Aided Design and Drafting System • Initiate and check Design Notifications & Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) • Maintains engineering documentation. • Design products that meet customer requirements and that are in compliance with local and national codes, and that conform to Company standards for quality, economics, performance and safety. • Participate in prototyping, testing and production line development. • Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) for use by the production team. • Prepare and support materials for products designed. • Provide continuing technical support for the assembly/production and quality processes. • Interface with Shop personnel to ensure product compliance with design requirements. • Also provide technical support for Sales, Marketing and Service operations relevant to the products designed. • Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers. • Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer. • Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done. • Perform other duties as assigned. What we expect from you? Education and Experience: 4-year technical and/or mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent work experience. 2+years of drafting experience, Solidworks experience preferred, AutoCAD experience is a plus 2+ years of solid modeling experience, Solidworks experience preferred, Solidworks Routing experience is a plus 3+years' work experience in the compressed air industry, experience with compressed air dryers preferred Possess an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Good knowledge of compressed air & related industry Knowledge of pressure systems and vessels is a plus Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills. Must be a decision maker who can work under minimum supervision. Must be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Must be a team player - open-minded and flexible, with the ability to generate creative solutions to problems and work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking capability.
