<p>Position Title Research Associate (Thewissen) Position Type Research Department Biomedical Sciences Full or Part Time Part Time Pay Grade MN7</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Department Specific Information Summary</p> <p>Support, design and execute experiments, collect, analyze and interpret data, maintain laboratory and equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards.</p> <p>Principal Functional Responsibilities</p> <p>Experimental Design and Execution: Develop and implement experiments and perform research projects in collaboration with the designated Principal Investigator and other researchers. Execute experimental procedures with precision and attention to detail. Prepare animals for various research protocols including anesthesia, surgical procedures and sample collection.</p> <p>Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, record and organize data generated from experiments. Analyze experimental results using appropriate software and tools. Summarize and interpret findings and contribute to the preparation of research reports. Compile and update laboratory notebooks, databases, and electronic records with detailed records of the experimental procedures, observations and results.</p> <p>Laboratory Maintenance, Compliance and Safety: Maintain laboratory in a clean and orderly manner. Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and promptly report any issues. Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment used for animal care and experimentation. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment. Follow ethical standards and regulatory requirements applicable to the research field.</p> <p>Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or training. </li><li>Minimum 5 years research experience required </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Requirements</p> <p>Ability to collect and analyze experimental data and handle animals.
