<p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, developed to control the spread of infections and/or outbreaks.</p> <p>As an Infection Preventionist, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Track and monitor transmissible diseases and notify local, state and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required. </li><li>Perform infection surveillance, maintain NHSN reporting, and analyze data to identify trends. </li><li>Review patient cases and provide recommendations to reduce infection risks. </li><li>Monitor hand hygiene and infection control practices; provide education as needed. </li><li>Develop, update, and ensure compliance with infection prevention policies and regulatory standards. </li><li>Conduct environmental rounds and infection control risk assessments, including for construction projects. </li><li>Report communicable diseases to public health agencies as required. </li><li>Collaborate with clinical teams, participate in quality initiatives, and support action plans to reduce HAIs. </li><li>Serve as a resource for infection prevention practices and support staff education. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master degree in applicable field or higher is required.</p> </li><li> <p>5 years or more experience in healthcare field</p> </li><li> <p>Certification in Infection Control preferred, required within 3 years & maintained thereafter.</p> </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <ul> <li>$75,857.60 - $110,567.60 (annually) </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <ul> <li>40 hours per week </li><li>Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm) </li><li>Availability to work remote one day per week as schedule permits </li><li>Required to work occasional On-Call </li><li>Career Level Availabilities / Growth Opportunities </li><li>Great Benefits </li><li>Relocation / Sign-On Bonus Availabilities </li></ul> <p>#LI-SBI</p> <p>#LI-Remote</p> <p>ECU Health</p> <p>About ECU Health</p> <p>ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties.
