This is accomplished by following the Daily Operating Procedures and employing the skills outlined herein:</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES*</p> <ul> <li> <p>inclusive of but not limited to the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Execute the Daily Operating Routine, which includes building envelope tour, interior room check, life safety systems review, and general hazards surveillance.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the movement of students, staff, and visitors in the buildings during the school day.</p> </li><li> <p>Carry provided radio at all times</p> </li><li> <p>Report any unusual conditions on school grounds or with security/safety related equipment or responds accordingly, as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain surveillance on persons entering and leaving school grounds. Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent vandalism and unauthorized entry. Greet and sign in visitors, volunteers, and vendors. Implements routines and random checkpoints throughout the day.</p> </li><li> <p>Confront unauthorized persons for verifying the purpose of visit.</p> </li><li> <p>Intervene in situations involving student safety and assist the administration as requested.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with students, educators and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>PMT trained or willing to be trained.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work outdoors for periods throughout the day.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience working with youth is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior security training preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior law enforcement experience, emergency first response experience and/or military experience involving security is a plus.</p> </li></ul> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.</p> <p>TERMS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work days per annual student school days, 7.5 hours per day (including ½ hour unpaid lunch), 5 days per week . Second Shift - 2pm-10pm</p> </li><li> <p>Up to two additional works days may be required as determined by the school administrator and/or superintendent or designee</p> </li><li> <p>Salary ($25.46 per hour) and Medical/Dental and Vision benefits in accordance with the Board of Education policy for unaffiliated employees.</p> </li></ul>
