<p>Treasurer/CFO</p> <p>Start Date: August 1, 2026</p> <p>Reports to: Board of Education</p> <p>Application Deadline: August 31, 2025</p> <p>Overview:</p> <p>Due to the upcoming retirement of the current Treasurer on July 31, 2026, Mad River Local Schools is seeking a highly skilled and ethical financial professional to serve as School Treasurer. The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the district and is responsible for managing all financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working with the Superintendent to support the district's strategic goals through sound fiscal stewardship.</p> <p>Our District:</p> <ul> <li>City of Riverside - Dayton suburb, Montgomery County </li><li>ODE Classification - Urban District </li><li>Enrollment - 3,500+ </li><li>Eight school buildings </li><li>General Fund Budget - $55,000,000 </li><li>Total Budget - $65,000,000 </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide financial leadership aligned to the district's vision and goals </li><li>Oversee all budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting </li><li>Serve as fiscal advisor to the Board of Education and Superintendent </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws </li><li>Oversee payroll, purchasing, benefits, and accounts payable/receivable </li><li>Supervise fiscal office staff and maintain effective internal controls </li><li>Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit processes </li><li>Advocate with State and Federal elected officials </li><li>Community involvement with local organizations </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio Treasurer's License or ability to obtain </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred) </li><li>Prior experience as an Ohio School Treasurer preferred </li><li>Proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills </li><li>Knowledge of Uniform School Accounting System (USAS) and Ohio budgetary laws </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000</p> <p>Benefits: Competitive benefits package including health, dental, and retirement contributions</p> <p>How to apply: Complete an online application at www.applitrack.com/dayton/onlineapp/</p> <p>Interested applicants should submit: Cover letter, resume, and three professional references</p> <p>Submit materials to: Necia Nicholas, Director of Human Resources, online or email to</p> <p>necia.nicholas@madriverschools.org</p> <p>Mad River Local Schools is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and adheres to all applicable federal and Ohio state laws, regulations, and executive orders concerning non-discrimination.
