They collaborate closely with subject matter experts to develop, organize, and update complex content modules, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all documentation. Leveraging a Component Content Management System (CCMS), they streamline the process of content creation, revision, and distribution to meet the needs of diverse audiences and platforms, and mentor junior writers in these practices.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Leads the development and maintenance of documentation using a component-based approach, ensuring consistency and modularity across all content pieces. </li><li>Collaborates with cross-functional teams including engineers, subject matter experts, developers, and designers to gather information and create accurate, complex technical documentation. </li><li>Organizes and categorizes documentation components to facilitate easy retrieval and reuse for various projects and initiatives. </li><li>Manages translations of technical documents by coordinating with translation vendors to ensure accurate and timely translation of content into multiple languages that meet regulatory requirements. </li><li>Integrates artificial intelligence (AI) translation technologies into the documentation workflow to automate and streamline translation tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce turnaround time. </li><li>Converts legacy technical documents into modular components suitable for integration into a component-based content management system, ensuring compatibility and consistency with existing documentation standards. </li><li>Mentors and trains other technical writers in component-based content management practices and tools. </li><li>Leads and participates in usability testing and post-project reviews to ensure documentation clarity and accuracy. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Advanced proficiency in component-based content management systems (e.g., DITA, XML). </li><li>Extensive proficiency in relevant software tools such as Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Paligo or similar. </li><li>Proven ability to work with cross-functional groups and multiple stakeholders, including leading aspects of large scope projects. </li><li>Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects to ensure projects are completed on time. </li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency and accuracy across documentation. </li><li>Must be self-motivated, with excellent organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Able to work both independently and in a team environment, with strong leadership and mentoring skills. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field, or relevant experience in lieu of a degree. </li><li>Minimum 5 years' experience writing technical documents and communication. </li><li>Extensive experience in translation management and localization processes. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in component-based content management systems and translation management. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Use of Artificial Intelligence for content generation, translation, or image manipulation. </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
