<p>Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Terminal Superintendent to oversee daily port and stevedoring operations. This role is ideal for someone who demonstrates strong leadership, sound operational judgment, and the ability to build productive, collaborative working relationships. The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and labor-intensive environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage daily stevedoring and terminal operations, including cargo handling, vessel loading/unloading, and equipment utilization. </li><li>Assign, coordinate, and oversee labor and personnel to maintain a safe, efficient, and positive working environment. </li><li>Ensure terminal areas and working spaces are orderly, well-maintained, and operationally ready. </li><li>Prepare and submit operational documentation, logs, and reports accurately and on time. </li><li>Plan and organize vessel and terminal activities to maximize productivity, minimize delays, and ensure seamless cargo flow. </li><li>Clearly communicate standard operating procedures and ensure consistent compliance across the workforce. </li><li>Collaborate with the Customer Service and Logistics teams to coordinate vessel schedules, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate and on-time service delivery. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in stevedoring, maritime, port, or terminal operations, preferably in bulk operations. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership with a track record of setting a positive example and building effective team engagement. </li><li>Ability to perform and make decisions effectively in a fast-paced, evolving operational setting. </li><li>Strong knowledge of stevedoring practices, port operations, equipment, and industry best standards. </li><li>Experience with Health & Safety oversight and working knowledge of OSHA regulations. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster teamwork and professional collaboration. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Ability to work night shifts with flexibility for additional hours as operational needs require. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li></ul>
