Employee will be required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions. </li><li>This position may require selectee to make repairs from work stands and other hard to reach places. </li><li>Selectee may be required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. </li><li>Selectee may be required to lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift items that weigh over 40 pounds with assistance from other workers. </li><li>Selectee may be required to work both inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather and in areas that re noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy. </li><li>Selectee may work on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet, or in close quarters at heights of 30 or more feet or in close quarters such as manholes or attics. </li><li>Selectee may be subject to electric shock, cuts, and bruises. </li><li>Selectee may be exposed to temperature extremes in test facilities, extremely high noise levels, and exposure to lead, radiation, chemicals or carcinogens. </li><li>Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trail period. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 Electrical Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.</p> <p>The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision</p> <p>JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:</p> <p>Knowledge of Electrical Equipment</p> <p>Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices</p> <p>Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)</p> <p>Ability To Use Electrical Drawings</p> <p>Ability to Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work)</p> <p>Trouble shooting (electrical)</p> <p>IDEAL CANDIDATE: Our ideal candidate is someone with integrity who takes pride in their work but also is a TEAM player! Is Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Adherence to all facility work rules and housekeeping/cleanliness. Demonstrates working knowledge and adherence to Arc-Flash and LOTO requirements. Demonstrates proper use of electrical measuring devices such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, and power analyzers. Also demonstrates proper use of hand and power tools such as drills and saws. Proficient using powered and hand conduit benders and threaders. Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of an accredited Electrician Apprenticeship or vocational training program is desired but not always required. A solid understanding of electrical theory, troubleshooting methods, math skills, safety protocols, and NEC is advantageous. Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks without restrictions (lifting 50 lbs. unassisted frequently). Strong work ethics, reliability, and punctuality are essential qualities for this role.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, lay out, install, modify, troubleshoot. and repair a variety of complete systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of electronic theory and circuits and basic logic circuits for power, timing, and motion controls, indicating and counting mechanisms, similar devices and a variety of technical data, such as schematics, diagrams, and technical orders relating to the electronics trade.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices, and of electrical equipment, i.e., test lamps, multimeters, circuit/power analyzers, circuit breaker testers, voltage recording meters, meggers, watt meters, ohmeters, and ammeters.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in using and maintaining hand tools such as, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, shippers, cable pullers, drills, soldering irons, and manual or power conduit benders and threaders.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in troubleshooting and tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use electrical drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams andto install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment without more than normal supervision.</p> </li></ol> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
