<p>Position Summary </p> <p>The grant support specialist tracks financial and student data for multiple types of reporting and audits. The grant support specialist is responsible for maintaining clear communication with schools served by GEAR UP WY; delivering programming and other student services; managing programming logistics; and implementing activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities </p> <ul> <li>Maintain current, accurate records of participant student information, financial transactions, and other grant-related activities </li><li>Provide organizational support to the program manager, including preparing purchase orders, travel requisitions, budget forms, and other related paperwork </li><li>Assist the grant manager in compiling the Annual Performance Report </li><li>Communicate with all grant partners about grant activities, including schools and colleges </li><li>Participate in student and parent grant activities such as programming, planning, and scheduling </li><li>Communicate with participant students and their parents about grant activities and requirements </li><li>Organize supplies and other materials related to grant activities </li><li>Coordinate special events such as parent information sessions and summer program events as needed </li><li>Chaperone GEAR UP WY students for out-of-town activities </li><li>Operate within the framework established by CWC's policies, procedures, and practices. </li><li>Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned </li></ul> <p>Position Specifications Minimum Qualifications </p> <p>Education </p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree required in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience in an educational setting or performing related duties. </li><li>Experience in budget management </li><li>Experience in working with at risk populations </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications </p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license </li><li>CPR and 1st Aid (if applicable, and will be required within 90 days from hire start date) </li></ul> <p>Equivalency Statement </p> <ul> <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications </p> <ul> <li>Experience with data collection and reporting requirements for Federal grants </li><li>Bachelor's degree required in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </p> <ul> <li>Expertise with database management and reporting </li><li>Knowledge of best practices in general office management </li><li>Ability to maintain and create records with proper composition, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. </li><li>Ability to track and reconcile multiple complex budgets </li><li>Strong knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, </li><li>Knowledge in word processing, Google and Canva, and Publisher platforms. </li><li>Ability to multitask and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects through to completion </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize inaccuracies </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with peers, faculty, target school staff, parents, and students from various community and cultural backgrounds with a variety of interests </li><li>Ability to successfully lead learning activities with individuals or groups with high-risk middle and high school students </li><li>Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines </li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive student and administrative information </li><li>Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of Wind River Reservation culture and peoples </li></ul> <p>Level of Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Work is generally performed under the supervision of the GEAR UP WY Program Manager guided by general administrative policies and procedures. Work follows general instructions and directions and makes recommendations for own work and department area. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment </p> <ul> <li>Reasonable accommodation will be extended to otherwise qualified individuals with a legally recognized disability. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used </p> <ul> <li>Computer, Printer/Copier and Apple products </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements </p> <ul> <li>Office and classroom setting with light work exerting 10-20 pounds of force, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds, and transporting supplies for grant activities </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions </p> <ul> <li>Work primarily performed in a school and office setting under general supervision </li><li>Travel within local service area is required.
