Our primary care physicians and their teams provide annual exams, preventive health screenings, wellness information and diagnostic services for you and your family.</p> <p>With offices throughout San Diego County, our doctors specialize in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. Some locations also provide rheumatology and orthopedics care. When further specialty care is needed, you have access to an extensive network of medical experts throughout the region. Scripps also provides health education resources, including weight management programs, nutrition and fitness classes, and programs for chronic conditions, such as diabetes.</p> <p>This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Depending on department needs, shift times may vary. Clinically, you will support our providers by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking patient rooms, assisting with procedures and providing patient education as needed. </li><li>The MA maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice. This includes the following: </li><li></li><li>Checking patients in and out with administrative duties as needed </li><li>assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures </li><li>assisting physicians with procedures </li><li>relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person </li><li>collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review </li><li>administering medications specifically directed by the physician </li><li>performing vital sign documentation </li><li>scheduling of appointments and procedures </li><li>complete and accurate message taking </li><li>routing messages to the appropriate area for direction </li><li>order and referral entry </li><li>acquisition of pre-certifications and setting up of cases in EPIC </li><li>basic registration and updating of demographics </li></ul> <p>Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman </li></ul> <p>Required Certification/Registration:</p> <ul> <li>BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting </li><li>Primary Care experience </li></ul> <p>At Scripps Health, you will experience the pride, support and respect of an organization that has been repeatedly recognized as one of the nation's Top 100 Places to Work.</p> <p>You'll be surrounded by people committed to making a difference in the lives of their patients and their teammates.
