<p>Summary:</p> <p>The Patient Service Representative is responsible for supporting licensed practitioners in delivering high quality medical care to all patients. This position is accountable for efficient patient care flow as well as non-clinical office functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist patients in the checking in/checking out process and completing necessary paperwork. </li><li>Collect appropriate office co-pays at the time of the visit. </li><li>Educate patients in post care instructions and their healthcare coverage responsibilities. </li><li>Scan medical insurance and obtained authorizations from insurance carriers. </li><li>Obtain insurance referrals as needed. </li><li>Scan lab reports, consultations, office notes and any messages into the appropriate chart. </li><li>Forward records to Bon Secour Charity Health or other parties as directed. </li><li>Assist physicians in obtaining patients results from other facilities, and schedule appointments with other facilities if needed. </li><li>Handles all questions regarding the office and office procedures. </li><li>Review correspondence, memorandum and routine reports and communicate with the office manager. </li><li>Oversee the daily schedule of the physicians. </li><li>Understand and help assure compliance with HIPPA. </li><li>Travel to other locations may be required as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of one (1) year of customer service and/or medical office experience preferred. Medical Assistant experience preferred.</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</p> <p>Licenses / Certifications:</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>Other:</p> <p>Travel to other locations may be required as needed.Special Requirements: N/A</p>
