<p>Description</p> <p>This position will be responsible for teaching the high school equivalency curriculum to adult classes to prepare students to obtain a high school equivalency certificate. Review of applications will begin immediately.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and the ability to become certified by the State of Missouri to teach Adult Education & Literacy. Fingerprinting through MACHS required for certification. Must attend the Pre-Certification and Introduction to Teaching Adults Workshops within three months of hire date.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>The part-time AEL Instructor shall:</p> <ul> <li>Attend at least 20 hours of approved professional development trainings per fiscal year; </li><li>Attend local and state professional development workshops; </li><li>Maintain daily hours worked in the ezLaborManager system; </li><li>Provide site coordinator and/or director with all required records and reports; </li><li>Assist in selection and development of instructional materials; </li><li>Develop and maintain community awareness and contacts for AEL Program; </li><li>Execute systematic recruitment and follow-up plans for AEL students; </li><li>Develop and provide individualized program of learning for each student; </li><li>Direct, guide, and evaluate student progress; </li><li>Cooperate and assist the AEL Advocate in providing guidance and referral information to students for needed services, job information, and additional educational or vocational information; </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the AEL Program, the Dean of Workforce Development and Technical Education or as designated by the President. </li></ul>
