<p>Description</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be an active supporter of the Baker Ranch vision and philosophies, and FirstService Residential 's commitment to client, staff and community. The expectation for this individual is to support the General Manager to meet Board goals and objectives with respect to asset management. Additionally, to ensure effective and efficient day to day operation of Baker Ranch facilities and operations. This position reports directly to the General Manager.</p> <p>Compensation: $74-85k</p> <p>FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.</p> <p>Your Responsibilities:</p> <p>The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included.</p> <ul> <li>Provide oversight of Architectural and Enforcement matters in partnership with the Community Administrator team, including weekly inspections, SmartWebs coordination, consultant collaboration, and escalation management, while coordinating with legal counsel as needed. </li><li>Oversee capital improvement and reserve projects for park facilities, including bid procurement, project scheduling, vendor coordination, and partnership with the Facilities Manager to ensure timely execution. </li><li>Provide oversight of third-party vendors and business partners to ensure compliance with contract terms, Association standards, and quality expectations. </li><li>Monitor and manage community operations, including escalated reservation inquiries, access control systems, website updates, and implementation of operational improvements to enhance service delivery. </li><li>Partner with the General Manager and Board of Directors to support strategic planning, annual budget development, and achievement of Association goals and objectives, ensuring adherence to the approved budget. </li><li>Attend and co-prepare Board meeting agendas and presentations; attend Board meetings, annual meetings, elections, town halls, landscape meetings, and designated community events (including required weekend events). </li><li>Provide leadership and guidance to staff through regular meetings, one-on-one engagement, and team communications; champion a collaborative and engaged team culture aligned with organizational goals. </li><li>Serve as a leadership presence within the community, addressing homeowner needs, supporting Association committees, and building strong relationships with the Board, volunteers, and key external stakeholders (e.g., City departments, utilities, Water District, Waste Management). </li><li>Ensure compliance with governing documents, Civil Code, and applicable state and federal regulations; participate in ongoing policy review and updates to maintain regulatory alignment. </li><li>Draft and oversee resident communications, including newsletters, e-blasts, town hall materials, and other community messaging. </li><li>Maintain and update internal reference materials, procedures, and standard operating documentation to support operational consistency. </li><li>Act in the absence of the General Manager as needed. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities, company-required functions, and ongoing industry engagement to remain current with community management best practices. </li><li>Foster a professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment; maintain strong working relationships with coworkers, residents, clients, and business partners. </li><li>Perform other duties, projects, and initiatives as assigned to support the needs of the Association. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty effectively. Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, professional documentation related to operations, governance, and relationship management.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated financial acumen, including budget development, monitoring, and cost control to effectively execute community programs and shared initiatives. </li><li>Ability to effectively partner with staff, committees, and the Board of Directors within a governance framework to provide guidance and support implementation of Board directives. </li><li>Proven decision-making and strategic planning capabilities. </li><li>Commitment to continuous learning and professional development through participation in industry programs and educational opportunities. </li><li>Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Proven leadership and team-building capabilities that foster accountability and collaboration. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. </li><li>Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration and maintain productive working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <p>The Baker Ranch Assistant General Manager will portray but is not limited to, the following capabilities/qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>CMCA designation preferred (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe). </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of progressive management experience in community management, property management, facilities management, or a related field. </li><li>Experience supporting budget preparation and oversight. </li><li>Experience working with Boards of Directors, committees, or similar governance structures preferred. </li><li>Working knowledge of maintenance operations, vendor management, and bidding processes preferred. </li></ul> <p>Certificate and Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Manager of Community Association </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements & Working Environment:</p> <p>The physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law to enable performance of essential job duties.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as required to support operational responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment, including a computer and keyboard. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically in order to interact with residents, Board members, vendors, supervisors, and clients. </li><li>Ability to walk flat and/or sloped association property to visually inspect landscaping, buildings, recreation facilities, parks, and other community amenities as part of operational oversight responsibilities. </li><li>Maintain on-site presence during scheduled work hours and meet with homeowners and stakeholders as needed to fulfill essential job duties. </li><li>Valid California Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle if driving is an essential function of the position. </li><li>Ability to attend evening meetings and community events as required to fulfill essential job responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday; however, the schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
