<p>Job Title: Distribution Engineering I (Mass)</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a Distribution Engineer to support the development of design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. These systems operate from 4kV through 138kV and are primarily associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports. Under the supervision of a technical lead, the engineer will ensure compliance with safety, design, and quality expectations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems.</p> <p>Comply with safety requirements and design and quality expectations.</p> <p>Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, and return to the office for engineering design work.</p> <p>Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions, and voltage drop and flicker calculations.</p> <p>Develop permitting documents for different authorities having jurisdiction.</p> <p>Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure engineering and construction standards are met.</p> <p>Conduct root cause analysis of outages and implement mitigation using engineering principles and design.</p> <p>Essential Skills</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering</p> <p>Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ArcGIS, ArcMap</p> <p>Experience with power utilities or energy-related internship or academic projects preferred</p> <p>Interest in developing work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects</p> <p>Comfortable working in both field and office settings</p> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <p>EIT certification preferred but not required</p> <p>Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, SOCKET, or similar</p> <p>Experience using CAD tools, MicroStation and/or GIS</p> <p>Experience with NESC and design standards</p> <p>Knowledge of customer GIS and WMS systems such as GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is a full-time position requiring office work for the first six months, with the opportunity for hybrid work thereafter. Approximately 10% of the time may be spent in the field. The role includes the potential for client storm support.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Framingham, MA.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $29.81/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
