<p>Position: Building Maintenance Technician</p> <p>Location: Wilton, CT</p> <p>Shift: Night Shift - Mon to Fri - 6:00 pm to 6:00am (2/2/3)</p> <p>Employment: Contract to Hire</p> <p>Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support a high-performance facility environment in Wilton, CT. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced setting and enjoys working across multiple building systems.</p> <p>The technician will perform preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshoot issues across HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and complete general building repairs. This is a cross-trained position that follows a "flow-to-the-work" model, offering variety, autonomy, and opportunities to expand technical expertise.</p> <p>This position is well-suited for candidates with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing reliable, high-quality maintenance services.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility systems following written procedures, including inspecting, measuring wear, replacing belts, hoses, fluids, filters, and evaluating performance metrics such as pressures, speeds, vibration, and temperature. </li><li>Analyze PM findings and recommend updates or improvements to maintenance procedures. </li><li>Document all PM and work-order activities using the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). </li><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. </li><li>Complete general building repairs (walls, ceilings, doors, flooring, painting, and fixtures). </li><li>Repair plumbing systems, including leaks, blockages, sinks, piping, valves, and drains. </li><li>Maintain and repair electrical distribution systems, lighting, controls, and related components. </li><li>Replace lighting fixtures, ceiling tiles, and grid components throughout the facility. </li><li>Conduct routine facility "rounds," documenting key operating metrics for building systems and equipment. </li><li>Communicate effectively with the site lead and customers regarding work requests, delays, required parts, and task updates. </li><li>Diagnose and repair electrical components including transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels/circuits, VFDs, and lighting systems. </li><li>Maintain building and exterior lighting systems, including parking lot lighting, emergency/exit lights, outlets, photoelectric controls, and energy-management system components. </li><li>Perform maintenance and repairs on dock equipment including overhead doors, dock levelers, locks, and seals. </li><li>Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety policies and best practices. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills & Education</p> <ul> <li>5-7 years of mechanical experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>3-5 years of facility maintenance experience in an industrial, commercial, or institutional environment. </li><li>Valid driver's license required. </li><li>Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance instructions, technical documentation, and safety procedures. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and customer interaction. </li><li>Proven ability to diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and work independently or as part of a team. </li></ul> <p>About Seneca Resources:</p> <p>At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm-we are a trusted career partner.
