<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a Resident Engineer/Project Manager for our Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA office. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Bring a "best practice" mindset with an eye to constant improvement and quality in delivery of work product including developing comprehensive quality plans and working with independent internal and client quality assurance teams </li><li>Perform marketing and networking activities to develop and maintain strong client relationships, expand work, assist with developing strategic teaming partners </li><li>Develop staffing plans and schedules to meet task requirements, delivering technical excellence and quality work in accordance with project schedules and budgets </li><li>Manage sub-consultants </li><li>Supervise field inspection and field office personnel </li><li>Review work in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications </li><li>Responsible for quality control of field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, and surveying on projects </li><li>Apply diversified knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices and independently make decisions on significant construction engineering problems </li><li>Develop and maintain team inspection standards at high quality level of delivery </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. </li></ul> <p>#LI-TD1</p> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field; or equivalent experience/education combination </li><li>Minimum of 7 overall years of experience with specific, demonstrated Project Manager / Resident Engineer experience on highway, infrastructure, and/or transit/rail projects </li><li>Professional Engineer registration (PE) in Oregon or Washington </li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships </li><li>Familiar with the role of construction management marketing, Project/Construction Manager/Resident Engineer </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. </li><li>Demonstrated team building and verbal/oral skills </li><li>Able to foster collaboration between technical and management teams working from other locations </li><li>Well-defined knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. </li><li>Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience. </li><li>Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. </li><li>Computer literate </li><li>Ability to travel for work when needed </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies </li><li>Valid state driver's license. </li><li>Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with project scheduling, estimating and constructability reviews </li><li>Civil Infrastructure (roadway/bridge) construction and/or program management experience with medium to large size projects </li><li>Understanding of pursuit management and client relationship building </li><li>Experience with local, state, federal and transit organizations in the states of Oregon and Washington </li></ul> <p>WSP Benefits:</p> <p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.</p>
