<p>Job Title: Scientist I, Production (Chemistry)</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated Scientist I to join our production team in a chemistry manufacturing environment. This role involves performing organic chemistry syntheses, managing inventory, and contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a solid scientific understanding of our products and their applications, and will be proactive in enhancing manufacturing efficiency and quality.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform organic chemistry syntheses in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Understand and execute processes based on written production documents. </li><li>Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products using advanced ERP functions. </li><li>Analyze and interpret scientific data with specialized technical knowledge. </li><li>Coordinate with other departments and teams to optimize resource sharing. </li><li>Participate actively in team activities, including conflict resolution and scheduling. </li><li>Identify and rectify manufacturing problems through experiments and process adjustments. </li><li>Maintain thorough documentation of all manufacturing and product development work. </li><li>Evaluate, revise, or create process documents to ensure quality and efficiency. </li><li>Strive to improve product quality and communicate the importance of total quality to the team. </li><li>Work towards department goals related to quality, timely completion of work, and safety. </li><li>Seek additional training or education to support career development. </li><li>Initiate and conduct experiments to address product or process failures. </li><li>Collaborate with planning and purchasing teams to align manufacturing schedules with master schedule requirements. </li><li>Participate in problem-solving teams and new product development initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent disciplines. </li><li>Minimum 2-3 years of manufacturing experience. </li><li>Proficiency in chemistry, SOPs, laboratory procedures, and document review. </li><li>Experience with organic synthesis, wet chemistry, and mass spectrometry. </li><li>Strong technical writing, time management, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to interpret and summarize scientific results clearly. </li><li>Problem-solving skills and proven ability to lead and direct work. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Organic Chemistry is preferred. </li><li>Experience with HPLC and ERP systems. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment. </li><li>Experience in new product development and process improvement. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is based in an Organic Synthesis Chemistry/Production Lab located in Rockford, IL. The work environment includes lab, office, and production settings, requiring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role offers an opportunity for permanent employment and career growth.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
