<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a Chief Inspector to be based out of New York, New York office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Assign and supervise construction inspection team members. </li><li>Perform QC/QA inspections of contractor operations for conformance to plans, proposals and specifications. </li><li>Supervise the testing and sampling of materials and products used in construction. Ensure compliance with approved materials/specs. </li><li>Lead the inspection team in reviewing site conditions, material placement, adherence to quality and safety plans. </li><li>Review and check detailed daily inspection reports including in place measurements, as-built sketches, quantity calculations and tracking of manpower/resources. </li><li>Participate in meetings and ensure the field staff is conforming to all health and safety standards. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Minimum 11 years of experience of inspection work on heavy highway projects. </li><li>Ability to read plans /specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work, keep track of work in place totals for all items of work including contract work, unit price work, extra work, and time and material work on a daily basis. </li><li>Advise senior staff of potential differences in field conditions and overruns. </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and Site Manager </li><li>Drivers license and ability to commute to project sites </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li><li>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>NETTCP Training in Concrete, Soils and Paving </li><li>NICET IV or acceptable equivalent ASCE grade or combination of acceptable education and experience on similar duties as a NYSDOT employee. </li><li>NICET IV or BS in Engineering (PE License/FE certification are plus) </li><li>ACI Certification </li><li>OSHA Safety training </li><li>AMPP (NACE/SSPC) Painting inspection certification </li><li>Experience working on erection/rehabilitation of structural steel and concrete </li><li>Additional certifications (CWI, bolting, safety) are a plus </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits:</p> <p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.</p> <p>Expected Salary: $78,200 - $136,730</p> <p>WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
