Keep reading:</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Candidate will be responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned power and lighting shipboard systems. Candidate will perform the following: Research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, and systems, in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications; initiate procurement specifications; review and approve supplier proposals; review, comment on, adjudicate and approve supplier furnished information for translation into construction products; interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; support vendor design reviews and testing; develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil-Specs and contract drawings; interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure a seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment; address and resolve technical issues, and make decisions on problems in his/her area of responsibility; support shipbuilding production department as required.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering/Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 2 years of experience of related experience, or a Masters with 0 years experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous shipbuilding experience is highly desired with experience in 4160V-450V distribution switchboards, transformers, circuit breaker coordination and shipboard electric plant testing . </li><li>A qualified candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD and familiar with SPARS. </li><li>It is preferred that the candidate has experience in the design and development of power systems and equipment. </li><li>A current security clearance is also a plus; some travel may be required. </li></ul> <p>Why HII</p> <p>We build the world's most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
