This position is expected to become vacant on 9/2/2025.</p> <p>Recruitment Range: Up to $100,000</p> <p>The Project Manager position will work on IT projects for various State agencies in North Carolina. This position is instrumental in enabling our customers to make a difference in the lives of the people of the State. This position will be part of the NC DIT Project Management Office and will be responsible for leading moderately complex to more extensive IT project management work. Job duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, direct and administer medium to large-scale information technology programs/projects and ensure that they are successful from a schedule, budget, quality and deliverable perspective </li><li>Provide expected technical capabilities, business expertise to all the projects and to derive the desired business results </li><li>Ensure that projects are performed in accordance with statewide and NC DIT standards and practices, and are completed on-time, within budget, with the desired quality </li></ul> <p>About the Organization</p> <p>The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that NCDIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities. NCDIT's mission is to enable trusted business-driven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians. Visit www.studentaid.gov to learn more.</p> <p>The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing enterprise-wide projects with the following Project Management Methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, and/or Hybrid </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of project stakeholders including project sponsors, project team, technical subject matter experts, Business subject matter experts, vendors </li><li>Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, preferred </li></ul> <p>Some state job postings say you can qualify by an 'equivalent combination of education and experience.' If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station, new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate. This relocation ensures the ability to work onsite multiple days per week.
