Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Ultimately, your unconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.</p> <p>This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working weekend days between 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m., with a minimum of two weekend shifts per month. Hours are flexible, and weekends are scheduled quarterly. Weekday shifts may be scheduled as needed based on caregiver availability.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform initial and ongoing assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform physical therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patient's age and condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support caregivers.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree or certificate</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association</p> </li><li> <p>Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a clinical area </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.</p> </li><li> <p>Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.</p> </li><li> <p>Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $50.00</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $50.00</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
