<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of Engineering Science and Technology is pleased to invite OSHA certified instructors to apply to teach our "General Industry" Outreaching Training course. Instructors will teach a seven-week course that will meet once weekly for 110 minutes. Students successfully completing this course will be eligible for an OSHA-10 General Industry Safety and Health card.</p> <p>The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and present lectures and course materials that comply with course outlines and outcomes; </li><li>Meet with students as needed to answer questions; </li><li>Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner; </li><li>Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams; </li><li>Compute grades and submit them on time. </li><li>Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the department faculty </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>OSHA Instructor Certification for 10-hour General Industry Training and </li><li>High school diploma and a minimum of five years' work experience in a technology field such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pneumatics, robotics, soldering and electronic assembly, electrical test & measurement, mechanical assembly techniques, motors & controllers, sensors & machine vision, and industrial control systems. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Background in teaching college level courses; </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); </li><li>Demonstrated connections with local industry; </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment. </li><li>Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li>Submit resume/curriculum vitae, cover letter, and copy of OSHA Instructor Certification. Cover letter must include availability during the day, evening, and weekends. </li><li>The three (3) references listed on the application must be professional references, and one of those must be a current or previous supervisor.
