<p>The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Post Doctoral Fellow (Stroke) in the Department of Neuroscience.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>A postdoctoral position in multiscale connectomics-based approaches in stroke study is available in Dr. Latifi's Lab at West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute.</p> <p>We are looking for outstanding candidates with strong expertise in genomics and in vivo imaging techniques. The successful candidate will work on a multidisciplinary project employing two-photon microscopy, spatial genomics, and brain manipulation techniques to study brain networks post-stroke and during recovery.</p> <p>At WVU Research Corporation, we strongly believe in work-life balance and keeping time for things we love outside our work. WVU Research Corporation offers a comprehensive benefits package with a variety of options to suit your needs:</p> <ul> <li>13 paid holidays (staff holiday calendar) </li><li>Paid Time off (PTO) </li><li>403(b) retirement savings with a fully vested 3% employee contribution match, (Employees have the option of contributing an additional 1-3% of their earnings to the plan, which is also matched by the WVURC) </li><li>A range of health insurance and other benefits </li><li>Dependent Education Scholarship </li><li>WVU Perks </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and conduct projects utilizing stroke models</p> </li><li> <p>Develop new protocols relevant to research aims.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize various in vivo imaging techniques to monitor neural activity in cortical and/or subcortical regions</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze data from circuits, genomics, and behavioral experiments.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement graph theory-based approaches to analyze circuits and genomics data</p> </li><li> <p>Participating in supervision of lab members, residents, and students</p> </li><li> <p>PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, or related disciplines</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Working with animal models of stroke</p> </li><li> <p>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Extensive experimental expertise in animal models of ischemic stroke </li><li>Strong skills in various surgical procedures (implanting arrays, craniotomy and nano-injection) </li><li>In vivo (two-photon microscopy and MRI) </li><li>Immunohistology </li><li>Spatial genomics </li></ul>
