<p>Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a 12-month contract job with a client in Englewood, CO. You will be responsible for providing manufacturing engineering services to support cellular manufacturing and timely new product introductions. Engineering services include process development, and representing Sourcing for New Products Development (NPD) projects. This will be achieved by working collaboratively with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams including Sourcing, Process Engineering, Development, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance.</p> <p>Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $59.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Manufacturing Process Engineer job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Conducting feasibility study to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements affecting the make versus buy decision. </li><li>Establishing process methods which meet performance and quality requirements. </li><li>Establishing preliminary bill of materials and routers. </li><li>Sorting through options choosing the most appropriate processes and machining methods. </li><li>Negotiating target completion dates with appropriate personnel from other departments. </li><li>Developing project plans and schedules for work activities. </li><li>Work with outside suppliers to understand cost drivers based on their manufacturing processes and capabilities. Solicit cost reduction ideas from supplier. Work with Senior Sourcing Engineers to implement supplier cost reduction ideas. </li><li>Participate in design reviews and risk analysis, order and track prototypes, deliver launch parts to meet or exceed project timeline. </li><li>Support Sourcing team members in reviewing NPD & Legacy parts to identify cost drivers. Identify cost and quality improvement opportunities involving technical issues (e.g., engineering design /specification changes; manufacturing capability). Develop strong understanding of Design For Manufacturing. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in mechanical, industrial engineering or other engineering science. 3-5 years of experience in a related field in a regulatory industry in manufacturing/ process/ supplier engineering. </li><li>Skilled and knowledgeable in manufacturing and new product processing. </li><li>Familiarity with control procedures, such as the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and Deviation process, Engineering Specifications, and Laboratory Procedures. </li><li>Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. </li><li>Ability to balance marketing, manufacturing, and design requirements to meet customer requirements. </li><li>Ability to handle project assignments of medium scope and complexity and able to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner. </li><li>Demonstrates good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools. </li><li>Ability to effectively work within a team and cross functionally to expedite completion of critical project tasks. </li><li>Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Proficient in process development and manufacturing processes. </li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude </li><li>Ability to work in a team environment </li><li>Ability to work with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
