They will work with vendors to manage City services, roll out new technologies, and optimize existing City systems.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>As one of the most senior technical individual contributors, performs a broad swath of technical functions across network administration, network engineering, systems administration, data, and AI disciplines as needed.</p> <p>Architecture Design & Strategy:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develops and maintains the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term strategic goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions that integrate seamlessly across various departments and systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates current systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Leadership:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Works closely with senior leadership, IT teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides leadership and guidance to development, infrastructure, and operations teams in implementing architecture designs.</p> </li><li> <p>Drives consensus across cross-functional teams regarding architectural decisions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Governance & Best Practices:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Establishes architectural standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure the consistent application of best practices across the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews and approve architectural designs, ensuring alignment with the company's technology and business objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures compliance with security, regulatory, and industry standards.</p> </li></ul> <p>Technology Innovation & Trends:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Stays current on emerging technology trends, industry standards, and competitive landscape.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommends and evaluates new technologies and methodologies to improve architecture and drive business outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the evaluation and selection of third-party technologies and services.</p> </li></ul> <p>Risk Management:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Identifies potential risks related to technology, infrastructure, and architecture, and propose mitigation strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity through robust architectural planning.</p> </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Reporting:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Documents the enterprise architecture, including models, roadmaps, and specifications, for clarity and reference.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares reports for senior management on the progress of architectural initiatives and the overall health of the IT environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Project Management</p> <ul> <li> <p>Leads, manages & plans systems administration-related large projects and assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops project work plans, project objectives documents, and plans using project management software. Conducts kick off meetings, coordinates and schedules work on assigned projects, tracks project progress and task assignments, and manages changes within the change control process.</p> </li><li> <p>Matrix manages work efforts related to the completion of tasks and assignments of other staff assigned to the project.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the work of consultants and contractors that may be used.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and tracks project budgets.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides regular written and verbal communication on project status via written reports, conducting regular status meetings with team members, and executive advisory board (EAB) meetings with department/division heads.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the City.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides technical assistance and information to co-workers, users from other City departments, and outside individuals, on the City's technical environment, architecture, computer systems, and applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides technical support within the Information Technology (IT) organization by serving as an expert-level technical resource for Help Desk, Desktop and Application support teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as liaison, as assigned, with outside vendors on technical issues regarding software and hardware components.</p> </li><li> <p>Applies knowledge and skills to collaborate, promote, develop, follow and recommend changes to IT in operations, processes and procedures, as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and develops a personal, professional skills and career plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with their supervisor to develop a career plan that meets the requirements of the division.</p> </li><li> <p>Takes proper safety precautions to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment. Uses all required safety equipment and follows all safety regulations, policies and procedures. Reports all accidents and damage to city property.</p> </li><li> <p>Knows and complies with all city and department policies; participate in professional trainings and development; and adhere to attendance and workplace attire policies.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to be an administrator of and support of VMware</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to be on call and respond timely to on site needs and issues</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to build and maintain the entire environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage Azure based SaaS environment</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and expertise in system integration, microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and familiarity with data management, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and understanding of VLAN's</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of administration and support of Microsoft 365 with strong emphasize of exchange online, and Teams UC</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of AI Architecture</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of AI Integration methodologies</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of AI platforms deployment</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of LAN / WAN, VOIP, TCP/IP, VPN</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Network Design/Architecture experience</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Network Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of networks security, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of routers and firewalls in an enterprise of various WAN scenarios such as a MPLS, point-to-point and secure VPN over the internet</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 to current Technologies and Active Directory</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge or and experience with Cisco IOS (switches, ASA firewalls, QoS policies, Access lists and traffic prioritization)</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge SAN / NAS / Storage</p> </li><li> <p>Skills and proficiency in software and firmware patching technologies such as SCCM</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.</p> </li><li> <p>Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with the public and all levels of personnel within the city in a positive and cooperative manner</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity, working well within an evolving environment, remaining effective when the vision, direction is vague, and performs within an acceptable level of risk</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform within all levels of the organization and obtain successful outcomes; interacts with internal and external stakeholders and customers in a manner that supports organizational values.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in working collaboratively, to assume responsibility, to prioritize and resolve problems, to work under pressure, to pay close attention to detail, to coordinate tasks to completion and provide quality control for responsiveness and customer satisfaction</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in strategic agility, continuously adapting and adjusting.?
