<p>East Bay Community Action Program is hiring for a full-time Medical Receptionist! The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, clients, and visitors at our healthcare center. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere while efficiently managing front desk operations, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and communication support.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately </li><li>Provide general information about services, procedures, and policies </li><li>Respond to basic inquiries from patients, providers, and other departments </li><li>Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the electronic scheduling system </li><li>Maintain provider schedules and coordinate with clinical teams </li><li>Document appointment details accurately in the electronic health record </li><li>Greet and welcome all patients, clients, and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner </li><li>Verify patient eligibility for services and collect appropriate payments and co-pays </li><li>Ensure all patients complete necessary consent forms and acknowledgments </li><li>Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times </li><li>Assist with administrative projects as assigned </li><li>Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required </li><li>Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred </li><li>Ability to work an assigned schedule with as needed flexibility for coverage between the hours of 7:30am - 8:00pm. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role in a healthcare setting </li><li>Experience with electronic health records and scheduling systems </li><li>Demonstrated competency in multi-line phone systems and general office equipment </li><li>Medical terminology certification preferred </li><li>Familiarity with health insurance verification processes </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications </li></ul> <p>At East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) we offer our employees:</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional healthcare benefits with heavily subsidized medical and dental insurance through BCBSRI </li><li>403(b) retirement plan with up to 3% company match after 1 year </li><li>Substantial paid time off including vacation, 12 holidays, personal days, and sick time </li><li>Tuition reimbursement and paid CEU opportunities </li><li>Supportive team environment focused on collaboration and excellence </li></ul> <p>We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference in our community</p>
