<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Evening Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>In the Medical Oncology unit at Saint Mary's Hospital, the PCA/Clerical Coordinator serves in a dual role, serving as both a Nursing Assistant and Clerical Coordinator on the unit.</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Regularly assist with patient care, including vital sign monitoring and recording measurements in patients' charts</p> </li><li> <p>Provide Ambulatory Support to patients, assisting with walking, showers, and other prescribed therapies.</p> </li><li> <p>The PCA/Clerical Coordinator will assist with the units' clerical responsibilities, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Welcome patients and visitors to the unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate appointment scheduling and collaborate with healthcare providers.</p> </li><li> <p>Organize and maintain patient records and files.</p> </li><li> <p>Handle phone calls to and from the unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate patient transfers to/from the unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage office and medical supplies for the unit.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: High School or equivalency certificate is required.</p> </li><li> <p>BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Nursing Assistant, Clerical Coordinator, or Unit Secretary experience in an Acute InPatient setting is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Nursing Assistant: Certification is preferred but not required.Position Highlights and Benefits:</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Highlights and Benefits:</p> <p>Full Time 32 Hours Evening</p> <ul> <li> <p>Positions are 8-hour shifts</p> </li><li> <p>Evening 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm</p> </li><li> <p>Rotating weekends and holidays are required for all shifts.</p> </li></ul> <p>Ministry/Facility Information</p> <p>Saint Mary's Hospital, operating since 1909, is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital dedicated to serving patients in Waterbury, CT, and the surrounding communities.
