<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Oversees the process of medication prior authorizations and obtains information necessary to complete the prior authorization process. Collects and submits authorization requests and all required documentation to the appropriate insurance company. Identifies medication financial assistance as appropriate.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Daily review of prescriptions to determine if prior authorization is necessary</p> <p>Develop a rapport with insurance providers and other third party payers to ensure good working relationships</p> <p>Utilize insurance portals and other systems to verify active insurance coverage</p> <p>Correspond with insurance companies to facilitate pertinent data for prior authorization requirements</p> <p>Monitor status of authorizations</p> <p>Respond appropriately to any denials</p> <p>Perform clerical duties as necessary, including composing letters or phone calls to patients, insurance companies, and referring providers</p> <p>Identify financial assistance available for patients to assist with medication coverage</p> <p>Work with clinics on availability of provided service</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED (Required) Experience: 2 years healthcare experience or similar work experience.
