<p>Department</p> <p>FSU College of Medicine | Florida Medical Practice Plan (FMPP)</p> <p>FSU Health Precision Pediatrics at Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD)</p> <p>2390 Phillips Rd</p> <p>Tallahassee, FL 32308</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>This position services as the FSU Health Precision Pediatrics Practice Manager, which is a highly visible position acting as an official university representative for the Florida Medical Practice Plan (FMPP) and College of Medicine. This position requires positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and community partners; critical thinking ability; independent judgement and decision making; and understanding of healthcare finance and state laws and regulations related to provision of healthcare services.</p> <p>Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of FSU Health Precision Pediatrics at IPRD. Communicate with clinic staff and clinicians to implement system or policy changes. Ensure excellent customer service and address patient concerns professionally and compassionately. Supervise workload distribution and activities supporting clinicians in patient care. Serve as a point of contact for visitors, vendors, and community partners as needed. Ensure proper facility maintenance and adequate inventory for assigned practices. Comply with all inspections, fire drills, and environment-of-care requirements. Collaborate with FMPP administrative staff to determine technology and equipment purchasing needs and clinical devices.</p> <p>Oversee planning and scheduling for FSU Health Precision Pediatrics at IPRD practices, ensuring equitable distribution of work and task coverage. Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff; monitor work hours and approve leave. Serve as the immediate supervisor for all clinical support staff. Communicate and train staff on workflow changes, and gather feedback to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. Conduct team meetings for the practice to improve efficiency, compliance and skills. Support staff in maintaining efficient patient flow and productivity. Foster teamwork to advance the mission of FSU Health and FMPP. Serve as the primary point of contact for conflict management and employee labor matters, driving proactive solutions, fostering a positive workplace environment, and ensuring alignment with organizational policies and employment law. Manage and monitor staff certification processes, ensuring all employees maintain required credentials and meet compliance standards.</p> <p>Resolve front-end reports, work queues, and edits in a timely manner with accurate data. Maintain knowledge of operational and reimbursement flow. Appropriately balances deposits, checks, and credit card systems. Balance and close batches daily as the appropriate secondary verifier with 100% accuracy. Demonstrate knowledge of third-party payors, billing, accounts receivable functions and payment codes. Maintain clinic budget as advised. Work on pre-authorizations for services and meds, policies, procedures and protocol development with the Head of Clinical Operations. Verify accurate entry of insurance details, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations. Maintain strict confidentiality of personal health information. Ensure the collection of copayments, prepayments, bad debt, self-pay balances, and other payments at the time of service.</p> <p>Serve as backup for all administrative support functions, including check-in, check-out, referrals, and other areas as needed. Ensure all information is handled, maintained, and released according to federal and state regulations and FMPP policies. Serve as backup for practice managers from other areas.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to administrative services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)</p> </li><li> <p>Post-job offer, but prior to hire, the following will be required:</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation of current PPD (Purified Protein Derivative) test as performed by a qualified physician, reporting negative results within the past six months.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation of physical examination completed by a qualified healthcare provider/physician within the past six months.</p> </li><li> <p>Within 30 days or hire, the candidate must provide:</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation of Tetanus immunization within 10 years.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccine or positive antibody titer.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a clinical setting. </li><li>Experience with Athena and EHR. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Suite applications. </li></ul> <p>University Information</p> <p>One of the nation's elite research universities, Florida State University preserves, expands, and disseminates knowledge in the sciences, technology, arts, humanities, and professions, while embracing a philosophy of learning strongly rooted in the traditions of the liberal arts and critical thinking.
