<p>Introduction</p> <p>The Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an Advanced Clinical Social Worker (PCN 126130). This position will work within our Forensic Services - Jail Diversion Unit and will be a liaison between CMHC and the SIERRA Pre-trial Re-Interview Center, a community-based program, in New Haven. Founded in 1966, CMHC is a partnership between DHMAS and the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Each year over 5,000 people receive a variety of recovery-oriented services at CMHC and its satellite clinics, including treating individuals suffering from: severe and persistent psychosis, depression, anxiety, addictions (including alcoholism, cocaine, and gambling) and those with co-existing mental health and addiction problems.</p> <p>The DMHAS Division of Forensic Services is established to implement and coordinate specially-skilled evaluation and treatment services for individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders who become involved in the criminal justice system, and to serve the courts and other components of the criminal justice system. Our efforts are intended to promote recovery and prevent or limit criminal justice system involvement to the extent possible, to promote public safety and to coordinate activities with other state and private agencies. Services within the Division span the continuum of the criminal justice system from pre-booking to end of sentence after incarceration and return to the community. SIERRA Pre-Trial is a residential program for 23 male offenders - either in pre-trial phase of sentencing or on probation.</p> <p>Start with us! Stay with us! </li><li>Provides individual field work instruction and/or clinical supervision which includes instruction in use of comprehensive psychosocial assessments and current diagnostic categories, taking into consideration cultural, social, economic, medical, environmental and legal issues; </li><li>Develops comprehensive service plans including measurable treatment objectives; </li><li>Initiates consultation and collaboration with other mental health providers to improve delivery of current services and/or identify unmet needs within current service system;
