We are seeking passionate educators dedicated to advancing all learners to their highest potential.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>We are seeking Elementary Classroom Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year to serve students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment; implement high-quality instruction aligned to curriculum standards; and support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. Teachers must demonstrate a commitment to equity, student-centered learning, and ongoing professional growth.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver standards-based instruction in core subject areas including literacy, math, science, and social studies </li><li>Create a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes learning for all students </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English learners and students with IEPs/504s </li><li>Utilize formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and track student progress </li><li>Establish clear routines, expectations, and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly classroom </li><li>Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to plan and implement effective instruction </li><li>Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities </li><li>Participate in school-based teams, professional development, and data-driven planning sessions </li><li>Integrate technology to enhance teaching and student learning </li><li>Support the social-emotional development of students through positive behavior strategies and responsive practices </li><li>Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documentation </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices </li><li>Ability to create and implement engaging lessons that support a range of learners </li><li>Effective classroom management and organization skills </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Knowledge of curriculum standards and assessment strategies </li><li>Experience with culturally responsive teaching and inclusive practices </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut State Department of Education Elementary Certification (013) </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred) </li><li>Experience working in a diverse, urban school setting preferred </li><li>Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools </li><li>Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply </li></ul> <p>SALARY:</p> <p>Salary and benefits are paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NEA Danbury and the Danbury Board of Education, available on the district website.</p>
